In fact, when a petrol car engine is modified to run on gas, in some cases the original ceramic catalytic converter might melt down due to the higher operating temperatures. A metallic substrate will not be a valid alternative as it will not last long either.
To solve the problem, BRAIN developed refractory steel substrates that can withstand a temperature of 150°C more than conventional steel.
